Douglas Dale Davis, age 76, of Tucker, GA passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2016. Born on February 23, 1940 in Madrid, Nebraska, he later moved to Seattle and then to Maryland where he married his wife Christine and then settled in the Atlanta area. Throughout his life he shared his talents with many, as a professor teaching at GA Tech, as a master gardener creating a beautiful yard for all to enjoy, and as a volunteer and mentor sharing his spiritual guidance. He and his wife were also world explorers who let their curiosity and zest for life take them to all seven continents. Most of all, he had a deep love for his family: his beloved wife Christine, daughter Nicole and husband Brett, and two granddaughters Megan and Elizabeth. Additionally, he leaves behind his brothers Eldon and Ed, his sister Betty, and their families. In lieu of flowers, kindly donate to the GA Tech Foundation in memory of Douglas D. Davis. Please put “EAS” in the memo line and mail to: Dept. of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, 311 Ferst Dr., Atlanta, GA 30332. Attn: Laura Cedarquist.
