Glenda Hall Jones

June 20, 1940 - May 29, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glenda Jones on May 29, 2025, at the age of 84, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Glenda was born on June 20, 1940, in Wise, Virginia, to Leetice and James Hall. She grew up in Norton and neighboring Pound, Virginia. She graduated from Radford University in Radford, Virginia in 1962. She married John Jones, her husband of 63 years, in 1962, and they moved to Atlanta shortly thereafter to begin their careers in teaching.

Glenda will be fondly remembered for her 27-year tenure as an elementary school teacher, during which she touched the lives of countless students. She shared her musical talents for many years as the organist at The Happy Hollow Church of God in Dunwoody. She was a longtime, devoted member of Briarlake Baptist Church in Tucker and, more recently, of Smoke Rise Baptist Church in Stone Mountain. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Glenda is survived by her husband of 63 years, John Jones, Atlanta; son Kelly (and girlfriend Stephanie) of Tucker; son Evan (and wife Sandra) of Stone Mountain; granddaughter Elise of Orlando; sister Phyllis Hall of Wise, Virginia: and aunts Margret Jordan and Joan Lawson. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Leetice Stallard Hall and James Emerson Hall.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 8, at 1:00 pm, at Smoke Rise Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Garden, Tucker, Georgia.

We will forever carry her memory in our hearts.
