My deepest sympathy for your loss. Mr. Ponder was a fragrance client of mine at Rich's/Macy's at N.Dekalb mall.It was always a pleasure to see him,and I have missed seeing him these last few years.He told me such amazing stories,and always pulled out a photo of his late wife,and told me I reminded him of her,and always bought Aramis cologne.He will be missed!

Mr P was a wonderful southern gentleman & true to the core sweet male in a real guy's body, but @BBC, made us all feel protected, comfortable & just welcome to be in HIS service. If one did not know anything about JOP's career, def--ya would never think to feel the least bit of any intimidation nor 'little or just always the  norm' whenever within his midst. 
He always made me feel special, back when I was a teenager, and later on after college, single & on reserve, on the back row, with my beeper, brand-new with the airlines--still attending services as I could & later, years later, when after I got married, had my own family at Briarlake. . .
Let's all light a real nice, slow-burning & perfumed stately candle as he gets to rekindle his love UP now, with his sweet, adored Margaret...in the gates with God in Heaven. 
May he have a sweet sleep, in the cross over into RIP, always!

Barbara, please know how much I feel and understand your loss.  It is never time !
I am so happy your dad was at Reagan and Jason's wedding and we all so enjoyed that time with him.
Your father was a true gentleman and is now reunited with his darling wife and his Father in Heaven.  How happy can that be!?!

I interviewed Mr. Ponder several times for the AJC for stories about the Mary Shotwell Little disappearance and James Earl Ray's movements before and after the King assassination. He was an immensely likable man who cared deeply about his work at the FBI, even years after his retirement. A special agent indeed. RIP, Jim Ponder.

I didn't know SA Ponder, but I was also an SA in the FBI. We were family in the Bureau in those days. My thoughts and prayers are with the the family. Alan Hosier
