Born in Santa Clara, Cuba in 1925. He was the son of Maria and Rafael Aleman. He married Ada Hilda Lopez in 1950. They both worked in banking in Havana.
In 1962 he moved his family to the United States in search of freedom from Communism.
Luis was one of the early members of the Atlanta Cuban community, arriving here in 1964. He was a devoted friend to many new arrivals from Cuba, whom he assisted in finding jobs and homes.
In his later years his greatest pleasure was actively helping bring up his beloved grandchildren Jessica and Nick and taking care of his wife of 61 years.
He is survived by his wife Ada; his children Luis C. Jr, Ada M., and
Diana; his two grandchildren, Jessica and Nick; his daughters-in-law Joan and Marianna; and many loving friends.
An exemplary man he was greatly loved and will be missed by those who knew him.
The visitation will be on Monday, January 23, 2012, from 7 – 10 pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084, (770) 491-3021, and the funeral on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at 2 pm at the same place.
