Mildred Batchelor was born August 26, 1928 in Akron, Ohio to Panto and Valerie Zaklan. She attended Robinson Elementary School, in Akron Ohio, and graduated from Akron High School in 1946. Mildred worked her way through business school and graduated from Hammel Business University in Akron, Ohio, moved to Arlington, Virginia where she worked for the U.S. Government. Mildred was married in September of 1951 at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Akron, Ohio. She gave birth to two sons, Wayne in 1954 and Michael in 1957.
Upon moving to Georgia, she worked for du Pont de Nemours in the offices of the DuPont Tucker plant and Norcross DuPont medical division for twenty eight years before retiring. Mildred was an active member in the Tucker First United Methodist Church, often volunteering her time, talent and energy to the church and The United Methodist Children's Home. Mildred always had a smile and a generous heart for friends, family, and community and was a loving and dedicated mother to her sons.
Mildred is survived by her brother Nicholas Zaklan and eldest son Wayne.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to the United Methodists Children Home of the North Georgia Conference.
