Robert Gordon Smith

Robert was born in Greer, SC to Gordon Lee Smith and Virginia Smith. He was a printer at Lyman Printing and Finishing until 1972 when God called him to the ministry. Robert served at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Greer, SC from 1972-1975 as Bus Minister. In 1975 he moved to Mobile, AL where he served as Bus Pastor overseeing 22 bus routes picking up children every Sunday and bringing them to church at Dauphin Way Baptist Church. In 1983 Robert was called to be the administrator/associate pastor at Rehoboth Baptist Church in Tucker, GA where he served until retirement in 2007.

Robert was a Godly man, a wonderful husband, and the best daddy a girl could ask for. In his years of ministry, he was a great influence on countless lives and lead many people to the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Lee Smith and Virginia Smith, his mother in law, Beatrice Guest and one sister in law, June Long. Robert is survived by his wife, Linda Guest Smith, with whom he just celebrated 64 years of marriage, and one daughter, Angela Smith of Mobile, AL.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home conducted by Ron Lambros and Scott Hanberry with burial to follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm.
