Roy was my family's mechanic. We moved to Georgia from Wash. St. back in 84'. Roy was one of the first southerner we met. We loved his accent, and the gentle way he would deal with his customers. He was a nice, honest man, and treated everyone like friends. I remember him telling me the things he did to his cars as a teenager to make them sound "tough" like punch holes in their exhaust. He worked on my diesel rabbit, my tan firebird with the broken headlight that would wink when I drove, and even on my honda scooter which I gave to him because I shorted him on a job he did for me once. I feel bad about that, but I know he got a kick out of watching his boys tear it up on it at the Lawrenceville Hwy. property. I still have the firebird. It's in my backyard. I drove it cross country to Washington St. in '94 and plan to drive it back to Georgia one day. Roy did the steering column on it. So, I'll end it with this: The only thing crooked about Roy was his smile. R.I.P

Dad I was cleaning up some tools of yours today. It was really hard to do. I keep expecting you to take them back but I no thats not possible. As I think of all the time we spent together working on cars my eyes flood with tears. What I wouldnt give to hear your voice again. I thank you for teaching me everything I know about cars. Whenever I would have a problem I couldnt figure out all I had to do was call you. I always thought I had big problems and I can here you now telling me to calm down take a breath and always think small instead of major trouble and of course you were always right. I think of the long days and some late nights holding a flashlight for you laying in the strret at home and enjoying every minute of it, just spending time with my dad. I also appreciated that you knew you taught me well and would put me on my own jobs and when I was done you knew it was done right. I remember putting my first motor in by myself when I was seventeen and how you told me how proud you were of me or when I got my promotion you were proud then too. Thank you for raising me into the man I am today. Just know I miss you so much. Im so thankful I got to speak to you the night before you passed. Im lost without you dad but I know I have to go on. But that doesnt mean that you arent on my mind every second of everyday. Nothing will ever fill this emptiness I have from losing you. I really miss you and want you to no I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH. What I wouldnt give to hear your voice again. I know you are breathing well now and spending time with mom Aaron grandma and uncle david. Until we meet again, thank you for being my father. I love you...

We know Roy's and Fay's deaths have been unbelievably hard on the family. They were such a loving couple and caring parents.  Please know that you are in our prayers.

Dad I remember sitting in your recliner when I was just a little fella
We would watch The Honeymooners way past midnight, me scrunched tight beside you. I tried to stay awake with you but never could. You would carry me to bed after every episode. I remember how you used to draw horses for me even when you were too tired after work. I remember when I hurt myself riding my bike. You threw the bike off of me like you were the hulk. (That's how it looked in my eyes). I remember the days before one Christmas, you and mom spent hours upholstering "a chair for work", yeah, that turned out to be the seats for the go cart you bought for us that Christmas. I remember you trying to keep me straight when I tried to stray. I'll always remember all of this and so much more. You and mom have made me who I am today and you'll never be forgotten. I will always remember you dad, not for what you gave me, but for those little times you took, just for me.
