Here I am… 12 years without you. I still remember our road trips, visits, swapping recipes, ..still missing it all. Keep resting in peace my old friend….

It’s been 11 years yet it seems like yesterday you left us. I still use your recipes and talk fondly of you to my friends. I remember the road trips we took and the good times we had… such great memories. I still miss you Ruth…..

Ten years…. Every Labor Day weekend for the past 10 years I have felt the void where you used to be in my life.  I still miss our phone calls, road trips and recipe swaps and mostly our friendship. Keep resting easy…

Ruthie... how could it be more than 7 years we’ve been without you? I still use some of your Christmas recipes and have very fond thoughts of you when I make them at the holidays. Hope you’ve still got a cat in your lap and a good book in your hands.  Still miss the dickens outta you. 

Lots going on Ruth & I would love to hear your opinion(s), although, I can guess what some of your remarks would be. Miss you & think of you so much!

I can not adequately express my sadness at Ruth's passing.  All her friends at Lake Oconee are deeply sorry to lose such a wonderful, smart, funny friend.  She is missed, loved every day, and will never be forgotten.

I will never forget the first time I met Ruth and I will never forget the last time that I was with her. We had lunch together which was only last month when she shared her health situation with me and Ruthie. Ruth kept it positive. She was such a positive person.

She taught me so much. I have so many "Ruth stories" that I have shared for years with family and friends and they feel as if they know her. Ruth always said that she didn't have a problem being married, he just needed to live next door. We could all write a book on "Ruth sayings."

Ruth, I will miss our talks and miss always saying, "no, you didn't just say that."

I miss you Ruth and there will never be another "you" as "you" were truly a one of a kind, very special friend.

Ruth, you are now "in a land where joy will never end."

Ruth was a wonderful person.  She made every day that I spent talking with her better.  I will miss her stories and her amazing sense of humor.

God bless and R.I.P., Ruth. We miss you dearly and work is not same without you.  You were one-of-a-kind and you made an indelible mark on all of us.

I was very lucky to get to know Ruth by working daily with her for a number of years. She was so funny, so charmingly smirky -- just a pleasure to work with everyday. We shared many, many laughs together. Such a near and dear soul indeed. It's so hard for me to get my head around the fact that she's not with us anymore, at least not in this time and space. I will miss her so. Ruth, I deeply hope that our journeys somehow join together again. And next time, I'll bring the candy.

My life is so much richer for having known Ruth.  I feel blessed that I got to share and experience her zingers, her wit, and her kind heart, all of which made work more than just a four-letter word.  She will be forever in my heart.

Ruth was a refreshing spirit in the daily grind of office life.  If I ever needed a pick-me-up, or simply a distraction, I would just stop by and chat with Ruth.  Whether it was one of her trademarked "Ruth-isms", a story of one her remarkable life experiences, or simply a look only she could give, Ruth had a sense of humor and a way of putting things so that you couldn't help but walk away with a smile and a chuckle.  Yet, underlying everything was a deep love and caring for those in her life, particularly David, Kathy and "the boys."  She spoke often of all of you, and I could always tell how proud she was of, and how much she loved, you all because of the excitement and vividness with which she would relate to me stories involving you. I'll miss our daily visits at her station, but I'll miss her presence, spirit and perspective on life even more.   She was truly a unique person, and this world is the lesser without her in it.  We miss you, Ruth!

I've known Ruth for 26 years and she never changed.  As others have attested, I too, will miss her sense of wit and wisdom with that good dose of sarcasm. She's talked me off of ledges, brought me sanity when mine was thread bare and doled out advise for free, but always told me her bill was in the mail.  I will miss our little road trips we would take, our cat stories and all the great recipes she would send me. I'm sure you're sitting up there in your reading chair with a cat on your lap.  Ruth, I'll surely miss you... never had another friend quite like you.  Hugs go out to Dave and Kathy and the boys...rest well my friend, rest well.

Ruth was an amazing lady.  Smart, funny, and great with a story.  I loved her sense of humor, so smart and witty. My thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family.  She will be missed by all who had the great fortune to cross paths with her.

I considered Ruth a dear friend and I will miss her dearly.  Her sense of humor was something to behold and I don't think I will ever laugh the same way again.  Rest well, Ruthie (she hated when I called her Ruthie!).  Remember, I can't talk to you on Fridays!

We will miss Ruth terribly.  I had the honor of knowing her for almost 40 years and we had been through thick and thin together.  Knowing that she isn't there to share a story, a plan, a problem, a good bit of gossip is such a loss to all of us who knew her. She was one of the best humanity could offer and though I won't be able to sit on that rocking chair at that beach house porch of which we so often spoke, I know she is still out there making sure we all behave ourselves and tow the line. She was our team mom - and we will miss her more than can be imagined - yes, one of kind, Maxine in disguise for sure. Perhaps the greatest lesson I learned from her is that life is too short to let it stress you out - thanks for those words, Ruth -- and your laughter and spirit - you remain in our hearts . . .

I met Ruth in 1991, and she never changed over the years.  She was always such a wonderful and genuine person.  She brightened every day for me when we worked together and always made me laugh.  She will definitely be missed.

Well, Ruth, you have the last laugh.  You would always retort that "You're gonna miss me when I'm gone!"  Yes, I miss you, and you are irreplaceable.  You made every day at the "salt mine" enjoyable, even if it "displeases" you for me to tell everyone that.  Now, I look at the candy jar at your work station as my daily reminder of you.  But it is a fitting reminder, as it is transparent, so I can see all of the sweetness inside.  May you have peace now that your life's journey has ended.  You're gonna miss me until I'm gone!

I think of Ruth and I smile.  I loved her sense of humor and all her great stories!  I loved that SHE MADE YOUR birthday special!  I loved her taste in books and men.. just not in scotch! :) I miss her daily envelope of chocolate, she always knew when I needed it the most.  I am sure they are loving you in heaven! Ruth was one of the most unique individuals I've ever had the privilege of knowing, and I miss her dearly.  She made me laugh every day that we spoke.  She was always there to listen, and I know how much she cared - even if she tried to hide it.  Every day, I hear her "Ruth-isms" in my head and remember her...

"Have a good weekend, Ruth!"
"Don't tell me what to do!"

"Good morning, Ruth."
"Says who?"

"How are you feeling, Ruth?"
"As mean as ever!"

I am still having a hard time grasping the fact that I can't pick up the phone and get that special loving boost that only Ruth could give.  Many of her acquaintances will never know how special she was nor how sorely she will be missed by so many of us.

She was  "Maxine-in-disguise" with a heart of gold (she would probably smack me for spilling her secret).  

Thank you, Friend, for allowing me to be included in your circle and know that I will always treasure our friendship.  I know your spirit is still alive and I'll keep in touch.  I love you!

I miss Ruth dearly.  She was always so much fun to speak with.  I don't want to get too sentimental.  It would embarrass her, and would subject me to "The Look".  She has left a large hole in our hearts.  Ruth was an awesome person with a wonderful heart.   Generous, funny, with a touch of wonderful sarcasm.

Your suffering is over now, Ruth.  Now it's up to the rest of us to cope with our losing you.
