He was born in Atlanta, GA the son of the late Bruce J. and Hettie Pittman Baxter.
Mr. Baxter was a courier for Georgia Blueprint and he was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marshall Johnson Baxter.
Survivors include Tina Perryman, Larry Johnson, Vickie Beacham, Glenna Talliert, Stephanie Busby, Paulette Perryman, Marley Perryman, Steve Perryman, Connie Perryman, Sid Baxter, Mrs. Charles Baxter, Bill Baxter, Rick Baxter, Shirley Baxter Anderson, Debbie Baxter Stinchcomb, Melanie Baxter and numerours great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral Services on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 11 am in the chapel of Floral Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Owen Skinner officiating. Interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Avondale American Legion.
