I am so sorry for your loss. Our heavenly Father wants us to pour our hearts out to him especially during these times because he cares for us (1 Peter 5:6, 7). May the love of those around you also fortify you.

It's hard to believe you have been gone a month already. I miss spending time with you. Our hours of quilting. Looking for just the right pattern and then finding the right material. Sometimes we would drive to Sahuarita to the trailer to get what we needed. The ladies there were always happy to see you and had a chair for you to sit in right in the center of the room. They gave you hugs and called you Grandma. Last Christmas we made each family a quilted project, made from your hands to their home and heart! Your projects are across Tucson, Texas and Washington D C. I miss watching Gene Autry movies and singing "You are my Sunshine." Mom has always taught us to be strong, loving and always take care of each other.  Thanks for all the wonderful memories. Mostly thank you for being the best mother a daughter could have.

I have so many memories of Mrs. Anderson. It's hard to tell just one. Arlene took me in as part of the family since I can remember. She was the best second mom anyone could have. We went to Disneyland one year and had a blast. Arlene was the best Girl Scout Leader any girl could have. We did lots of crafts and went on camping trips. Like Carrie said we went down the Grand Canyon and she was right there with us. She was the best leader ever. Cathy is my best friend. Rene and Carla are great too. I will miss Mrs. Anderson but she will always be in my heart. I love you.

My Special Aunt, My Friend

When she looked at me, her eyes glistened
With the biggest hug and smile
She was so concerned to listened
She was there and supported me through the mile
 I remember our many talks
The warmth of laughter shared
It brightened my day
Because I knew she truly cared
It made sadness seem far away
I look up at the night sky
A new bright shiny star
A beautiful angel saying "Hi"
I know in my heart she isn't far.

Arlene was my Supervisor in the child support unit when I started in 1990 until her retirement.  She taught me so much about the department and I still use that knowledge to this day.  She was one of the hardest working people I know.  She always talked about her family, especially her 3 daughters, and I remember her taking trips with them every year.
I shared a love of quilting with Arlene too, it wasn't all work.  I still have 2 of her wall hangings that she made me and each of my daughters have one of her baby quilts.  They will always be treasured.  She even gave me one of the patterns that I have used on a couple quilts.
Your Mom was a great lady with a big heart, she will be missed.
My deepest sympathy to you all.
