Barbara Elizabeth Lewis

Barbara Elizabeth Lewis (Smith), known for her kind-hearted and generous nature, passed away peacefully at home in Tucson, Arizona, on October 21, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on June 23, 1936, in Dorrance Township, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of William Smith and Barbara E. Smith, both of whom predeceased her. Barbara lived a life full of energy and fearlessness, her vibrant spirit and love for life were evident in all she did.

Barbara was married to Roy G. Lewis for 44 wonderful years until his passing. She leaves behind her loving children: Debra Searfoss from Tucson, Arizona; Joyce Gong from Chandler, Arizona; and Barbara Bell (John) from Colorado. Her legacy continues with her grandchildren: James, Richard (deceased), Chelice, Claude Jr., Christina, Erin, Brian, Veronica (deceased), John David, Orrin, and her numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. Barbara's family also includes her sisters Dorothy, Lillian, and Lois, and brothers Bud, Bob, and Bill. She was preceded in death by her sisters Myrtle, Elizabeth, and Mary, and brothers William J. Jr., Thomas, George, Richard, and James.

Barbara worked as a factory worker until her retirement. She was known for her strong and thoughtful personality, always quick-witted and caring towards others. Her interests included dancing, shopping, cookouts, family gatherings, traveling, and crocheting, through which she expressed her full-of-life spirit.

Funeral services to honor Barbara's life will be held on November 3, 2025. A visitation will take place from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn, located at 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706. The funeral service will follow from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the same venue. A graveside service will then be held from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm at South Lawn Cemetery, also at 5401 S Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706.

Barbara Elizabeth Lewis will be remembered for her loving, protective nature, and the fearless way she embraced life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
