She was born in Rapid City, South Dakota to George and Shirley Knochenmuss and grew up on a farm in Wellington, Colorado with her sister Connie and two brothers Donald and Dale.
She lived in numerous states finally deciding on Tucson, Arizona as her home where she raised her four children Debra, Edward, Joseph and David. She worked as a bookkeeper until she retired in 2003. Throughout her life she was a devout Christian and trusted in God completely to lead her and meet her needs through difficult times. She also enjoyed gardening, working around the house and spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She will be missed, but will always be in our hearts and minds until we meet again in heaven.
To My Mother
Wherever I have gone in life,
Whatever I have learned,
For all your loving kindness,
You ask nothing in return.
I cherish your picture.
It dwells within my heart.
I hope you know I miss you
More each day we’re apart.
A silver cord was loosened
A wheel has ceased to turn
A golden bowl was broken,
A fire ceased to burn.
Sweet memories now linger,
Of you, mother, now above.
And though you’ve left this earth,
My heart retains your love.
You Can Only Have One Mother
You can only have one mother,
Patient kind and true; No other
Friend in all the world,
Will be the same to you,
When other friends forsake you,
To mother you will return,
For all her loving kindness,
She asks nothing in return.
As we look upon her picture,
Sweet Jesus, take this message,
To our dear Mother up above;
Tell her how we miss her, and give her all our love.
