Though she lived in many places throughout the state, she returned to Tucson and graduated from Sahuaro High School before receiving a Bachelor’s Degree from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona..
She is reunited with her parents, Barbara (Shoup) and Robert E. Smith, Sr, and her brother, Leo Smith. She is survived by her daughter Alyssa Ford(Marley); grandchildren, Harbor and Finley; brothers, Paul Smith(Geri), Roderick Smith, and Robert Smith, Jr; cousin, Bob Townsend; sister-in-law, Tiana; as well as beloved nieces and nephews.
Calista loved to travel. She could always be found planning her next cruise with family and friends – finding joy in new destinations, open water, and shared adventures. She spent almost 30 years in the travel industry at Bon Voyage Travel after starting her career at Coldwell Banker. After retirement, she treasured time spent visiting family, and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren. Her interests included treating her dogs like children, Smith family tacos, Arizona Wildcats, Catalina Foothills mountains, the news, Mexican food lunches, and college sports (basketball and football). Calista will be remembered for her love of family, her constant smile, and her caring soul. You could count on her for nonstop jokes and lighthearted conversations. She was incredibly proud of her daughter, and never missed an opportunity to share her accomplishments.
The family is grateful for the compassionate care provided by Park Senior Villas and BAYADA Hospice.
