Even if he were not my dad, he was still the best person I have ever known. There are many reasons that is true. Here are just a few of those reasons. He has an enormous heart of gold with plenty of love for his family and friends. When faced with a fork in the road, he always took the high road. He led by example morally, ethically, and in terms of working hard to achieve goals. He taught me to value education because, no matter what, you will always have your education. That is why I am a lifelong learner and the type of student that I am. He advised me to buy land which has led to a wonderful quality of life. He taught me to ride which still forms me into a better person every single day. My dad served his country in the Navy during WWII and was honored by the Veterans Association just prior to his death. Even when he was completely confused, he still loved his family. I could not cure my dad but I will do my very best to honor him for the rest of my life. And, I will dedicate my career as a GNP to honoring the geriatrics we are blessed to have.
