Charles Eugene Cook, lovingly known as Charlie, passed away on November 2, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on January 12, 1947, in Lebanon, Indiana, Charlie grew up with the strong values, grit, and good humor that would define his life and the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Army from October 19, 1966, to October 18, 1972. His years of service shaped his unwavering sense of duty, resilience, and dedication—qualities that continued to guide him long after his time in uniform.
A true “Jack of all trades,” Charlie spent most of his working life as a truck driver, but his skills stretched far beyond the open road. Over the years, he also worked as a welder, electrician, mechanic, construction worker, horse trainer, and more. If something needed fixed, built, or figured out, Charlie was the man to call. His hands were always busy, his mind always problem-solving, and his heart always willing.
Charlie's life was rich with adventure. He had an undeniable love for horses, the freedom of travel, and the simple joy of golf cart escapades with friends and family. Whether exploring back roads or bonding over good stories, he believed that life was meant to be lived fully—and he certainly did just that.
Charlie deeply loved his family. He is survived by his children, Rex Cook and his spouse Jamie Cook, and Margaret Morning and her spouse Michael Morning. He was also blessed with a daughter-in-law, Monique Klein, from his late wife, who remained an important part of his life. Charlie carried the love of his two late wives, Karen and Suzanne, in his heart always, honoring their memories with tenderness and devotion.
He leaves behind many friends and family members who cherished him dearly. To know Charlie was to know warmth, laughter, practical wisdom, and unshakeable loyalty. He touched countless lives with his generosity, humor, and the adventurous spirit that lit up every room he entered.
Charlie’s story is one of strength, love, hard work, and unforgettable experiences. He will be deeply missed, yet his legacy of resilience, kindness, and wholehearted living will continue to shine through all who loved him.
May he rest in peace, reunite with those who went before him, and forever remembered by those who remain.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
