Charles Louis Gabriel Sr.

Charles Louis Gabriel Sr. was born on July 31, 1938 to parents Claude Joseph Gabriel and Clara Rebecca Henry in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Charles family moved to San Francisco, CA while he was a young child. Charles grew up in San Francisco, CA where he attended Galileo High School. Soon after high school Charles entered the Air Force where he served for eight years. Upon his honorable discharge Charles returned to San Francisco, where he soon found employment as a clerk typist for the City of San Francisco Welfare Department. Charles met his future bride to be Barbara Ann Gabriel in 1967, and in 1968 they were married and bore one child, Charles Louis Gabriel Jr.

Charles went on working for the City of San Francisco for 30 years, 11 years for the Welfare Department and 19 years for the San Francisco Municipal Railway Department.

Charles is survived by his son Charles Louis Gabriel Jr, his granddaughters Brianna Mone, Barbara Gabriel and Rian Joseph.

He also had two brothers and one sister: Claude Gabriel (deceased), Robert Smith, and sister Teresa Smith (deceased).

He is also survived by two nephews and three nieces: Marcel J Gabriel, Charles Hall, Ramona Gabriel, Claudia and Shiela Gabriel.

Charles is also survived by family in Louisiana, as well as in California and Arizona, as well as many friends and brother and sister bus drivers.
