

A Memorial Service will be held at Generations Church, 2550 N. Tucson, in Tucson, Arizona on Friday May 23, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. A reception will follow at Southern Arizona Community Academy located at 2470 N. Tucson. Chris’s ashes will be interred in Fort Walton Beach, FL at a later date.
Chris was born in Houston, TX to Dudley and Yvonne Morris on December 29, 1953. He attended Choctawhatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach, FL and graduated in 1972. Chris went on to earn a B.S Degree in Education with Social Studies certification at Southern Illinois University and later received a Master’s Degree at the Air War University in Montgomery, Alabama.
Chris served honorably as an Officer in the United States Air Force rising to the rank of Captain. After his military service, Chris spent the next 27 year as an Intelligence Officer in CIA, NPIC, GSA and DNI. He received many honors and awards for his superior work in the intelligence field. Chris retired from government service in August 2012 and began his teaching career at Southern Arizona Community Academy in Tucson, Arizona in February 2013.
Chris is preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his son, Christopher Andrew Morris of Las Cruces, NM, ex-wife Mary Morris of Las Cruces, New Mexico, sister Debbie Elliott of Fort Walton Beach, FL, sister Jennifer Borthwick of Pensacola, Florida, nephew Chris Land of Fort Walton Beach, FL, niece Jessica Land of Defuniak Springs, FL, nephews Kenneth and Michael Cox of Collierville, TN.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “Christopher D. Morris Scholarship Fund” that has been established to honor Chris’s dedication to teaching and mentoring so many people throughout his life and careers. Check, payable to the fund, may be sent to Mary Morris, 4860 Cripple Creek Road, Las Cruces, NM 88011. Scholarship will be given to deserving students, who need help financing their education; to follow their dreams.
