Delma J Hunter-Hawkins

Delma, a native Tucsonan, graduated from Cholla High School and the University of Arizona. She acquired employment with Pima County Juvenile Court and later with State Farm Insurance until she retired in 2017.

Delma married Charles Hawkins in 1989. Together they raised their family and built their dream home.

Delma was warm, friendly, and kind. Her passions included her faith in God, family, friends, food, adventures, travel, and of course being “Gigi” to granddaughters, Zahra and Simone.

Delma’s parents, husband, Charles Hawkins, and son, Charles E., precede her in death.

Delma leaves a legacy of loving memories and excellence with daughter, Alena Hawkins Temple (John) of Tucson, AZ; sons, Charles A. (Vera) Hawkins of Portland, OR, Derreck, Stacey, and Anton (Jade) Hawkins of Phoenix, AZ; twenty-seven—soon to be twenty-eight—grandchildren; sisters, Marva Hunter-Cooksey and Rosalind Longmire (Al) of Tucson; many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, 2800 E. 36th Street Tucson, AZ, 85713.
