

JAGGERS, Dora Peyron
Dora Jaggers passed away December 23, 2013 of sudden cardiac arrest due to undetermined cause at Pueblo Springs Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident for the past 64 months. She was 93. Dora was a native Tucsonan, the oldest daughter of Pete and Amelia Peyron (née Sanchez), and granddaughter of the Tucson pioneering family of Pierre Peyron. Dora graduated from Tucson Senior High School and went to work for Consolidated Aircraft Modification Center. Continuing the family tradition of military service – her father served in the Rainbow division in France during World War I – she joined the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) in 1943 and was honorably discharged after 17 months of service. She returned to Tucson where she continued to work, married, and raised a family of three daughters and a son. She often worked with her husband on his laundry route and was known for her hospitality during his weekly poker games at their home. Dora also cared for many children in her extended family and her elderly mother Amelia who lived to 97. She was preceded in death by her sister Angelina Harris and by her husband, William Jaggers, in 2009, to whom she was married for 58 years. Dora is survived by her sister Julia Camacho and her children Jacqueline Connolly and son-in-law Leo Connolly; Johanna Jaggers and son-in-law Andrew Radolf; Will Jaggers; Sheila Jaggers and son-in-law Rick Baldwin. She has six grandchildren, Richard Hermosillo, Samantha and grandson-in-law Ron Elmer, Ursula Pemberton, Michael Jaggers-Radolf, Simone Jaggers-Radolf, and Sydney Sublett; and nine great grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrew, Dominic, Aidan, and David Hermosillo; Ryan, Sophia, and Jimmy Elmer; and Mateo Leveton. Cremation will be followed by a memorial service and inurnment February 1, 2014.
