

Elio Volta, age 90; was born in Italy and came to the United States, August 19, 1939. He graduated from Naugatuck High School in Naugatuck, Connecticut, in 1951. He then enlisted in the Air Force in August 1952, in which he served 20 years; then retiring in 1972. During his tour of duty with the Air Force, he served in French Morocco, North Africa, Germany, 18 months in Vietnam; along with numerous assignments in the States. He worked for Hughes Aircraft for 17 years and retired in 1989. He retired for good, in 1999.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Gina Anna Volta, his daughters Nancy Brolund (Eric), Louisa Cox and grandchildren Paul Evering, Renee McDougle (Chris) and Kyle Cox. He is also survived by his brother Gino Volta (Patricia), Tony Volta (Diane) and his sister Elvira Gawitt (Don).
Elio was a very loving, caring husband and father. He loved music, playing his accordion, dancing, hunting, gardening and attending church. He truly loved taking care of his family and they were the most important thing in his life. We want to give a big "Thank You" to TMC Peppi's House Hospice, for their kindness and care. They were so wonderful.
Funeral Service will be held held Friday, September 9; at 9:30 AM. Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 300 N. Tanque Verde Loop Rd, Tucson, AZ 85748. Burial with Military Honors will then immediately follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ 85712.
