She graduated Allen High School and lived in Louisiana until the early 1970s when she moved out west to Tucson, Arizona.
In Tucson, she completed business courses at Tucson College and found employment at Pharmaseal, where she worked in their offices until the company relocated to the Far East. It was also at Pharmaseal where she met one of her best friends Emilia Robles, who remained lifelong friends until her death in 2011. A family friend introduced her future husband, Verdel “Papa” Reese. Together they raised 5 children until his death in 1998. After Pharmaseal, Ena trained and worked as a travel agent until her retirement in the early 2000s.
Ena continued to be the central family figure for family members in Tucson and made frequent trips around the country to visit relatives and friends.
Proceeded in death by her husband Verdel (Papa) Reese, two siblings Ora May & Kenneth, a daughter Gonekie (Nikki), and a grandchild, Reginald (Bubba). She is survived by brothers, sisters, four children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Granny could always be found with the phone to her ear touching bases with family and friends. Ena (Granny) was always the glue that held the family together and will live forever in our hearts and memories.
