Mom was born March 11th, 1931 in Shafter, California. She was the fourth of eight children born to Clarence and Roma Winter. She had 4 sisters and 3 brothers who were the youngest of the family.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Jeanette McHughes and Denise Ayers Delrie, 1 grandaughter, Michelle Love, 2 great grandchildren and 1 great great grand daughter.
Our mother was most caring and always guiding her children towards spiritual growth in the LORD. Mom’s devotion to the LORD was her strength and was felt in all aspects of our daily lives Through this devotion she taught, loved, and cared for her family.
Her love as a mother provided the basis for the paths we would eventually take. Her prayer life involved asking GOD to watch over us and provide us with spiritual guidance.
Mom played the guitar and mandolin. She loved to sing and often sang with Dad, her Brother-in-law, Lester Ayers and Brother Douglas McHughes. She composed several songs and poems in her later years which have been a special blessing to us.
Her family moved several times in her childhood due to the work situation during the depression. Her Father was a farm worker which led them to a small community in the San Juaquin Valley of California called Farmersville. We believe Mom was about 12 years old at the time.
When moving there, the family began attending the small Pentecostal church called “Free Oneness Church of Cameron Creek Colony” that was pastored by Brother Mack Roberts. It was there she met the love her life, Jesse Ayers.
As we look back on how their friendship and relationship began, we can see the importance of their faith in the Lord. Mom and Dad had both given their hearts to the Lord at an early age so when Dad for their first date invited her to go with him and some friends to attend a revival meeting in Fresno, California it didn’t seem awkward or strange. The speaker just happened to be the Rev. William Branham. It was at that service the special gift and messenger caught their eye and ultimately, their hearts.
It was on this path their life together began and continued until the Lord called them home. It was the importance of the Lord Jesus and the message He had sent for us in our day!
