Frances 98, of Tucson was called home by the Lord Jesus on May 3, 2015. She was born in New York City, New York on April 6, 1917. She moved to Tucson in 1942. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Roger Glover; her parents, Santo and Mary Parise; brothers, Nick, Frank, Steve; sister, Catherine Wethington. Frances is survived by her four wonderful children, Kathy (Dave) Harris, Patricia (Dominic) Caristi, Robert (Tanya) Glover, Barbara Glover (Allyn Haynes); also seven grandchildren and many great- and great-great-children.
She graduated from Pratt Institute (New York City) as a designer and also a Post-graduate in Art. Frances arrived in Tucson in October 1942 and was employed by Shell Oil Company as one of the first Shell ladies during the war. It was here that she met and married Roger Glover in 1943. After becoming a homemaker, she taught sewing and was a leader for Brownies, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and 4-H. She was a church deaconess. When Roger retired, they traveled throughout the United Sates and Canada. Frances enjoyed boating, camping, hiking, and hunting. She enjoyed life to the fullest and her cup runneth over. The viewing will be held at FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL at 7 E. University Blvd. on Friday, May 8, 2015, 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Church Services will be Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at Cortaro Vista Community Church, 8600 N. Camino de Oeste. Graveside Service will follow at South Lawn Memorial Park with a luncheon reception following, at the church. In lieu of flowers. Donation may be made to the church for support of missionaries.
