Happy Birthday, Paco (March 3rd). This year is a turning point. That revolution of which you were quite intrigued, it may be coming. P.S. I dreamt you were wearing a tuxedo, dancing with a beautiful lady and smiling. It seemed real.

Paco was my first love and we lived together in college for a few years. I can still hear him calling me, "Hey Bertski!"(I'm a Russian Jew.) 
We also kept in touch over the decades and sometimes got together for lunch when I came to Tucson.
He was one of a kind, and his store of knowledge was staggering. 
Wherever you are, Pac, I hope there's a great magnified light to make your little soldiers, lots of books that most of us will never read, some people to argue politics and philosophy with, and all the souls you've loved and lost: your dad, your mom, Bea, Bill, and all of your beloved dogs.
I lit a Yahrzeit candle for you today, which I know you would get a big kick out of :)
To further confuse things, (which I know you would love) I offer you a Buddhist prayer: 
May you be happy
May be you be peaceful
May you be free of suffering.
You'll always be in my heart. 
My condolances go out to Beth and everyone else whose life Paco touched.

Paco was complex and cultured man with many interests, a love of old movies and Film noir, German cooking, blue healers, classic artists like Botticelli and classic literary works including light reading such as Dante's Inferno.  And I can't forget to mention his love of music, Beatles, Stones, Poco, Pink Floyd, John Sebastian, Traffic and far too many others to mention here.  I will miss Paco's sense of humor, and his kind and gentle ways.  Dearest, dearest friend I will love you and miss you always.

Paco was a man with such a brilliant mind and any student who had the pleasure of being in his History classes didn't realize that they were in the company of such a gifted and overly highly qualified man who knew his subject matter like the back of his hand. I would like to thank Beth; his long time girlfriend and common law wife for being there for him throughout the years. I was a very good friend of his from high school and I know that Beth was a saint in dealing with him because he tended to over analyze any given situation and that stems from his brilliance. He had a quick wit and his humor could be dark sometimes, but it was at a higher mental level that it could be over some people's head. His friends got him. He was a kind man. He was also a great male friend for a woman to have; the best wing man I ever had. I will miss my friend Paco.
