

Gloria Olga C. Delgado, 86, of Irvine, California, passed away on September 18, 2016. She was born in Tucson, Arizona on September 29,1929. Predeceased by parents, Francisco “Chacho” and Concepcion “Concha” Contreras. She attended Tucson High School and was later married on December 14, 1948, to Henry H. Delgado. who predeceased her.She is survived by her sister, Olivia C. Caballero, and predeceased by sisters, Mary Louise “Licha” Tully and Cecilia “Sheila” Consuelo Romero. Also predeceased by brothers, Frank “Pancho” Contreras, Fernando “Nando” Contreras, and Ernesto “Neto” Contreras. She was a devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church. Gloria had a loving passion for her family and friends. She devoted her life to raising and loving her children. Gloria was a great supporter of education for her children and other young persons she met during her lifetime. She was very active in her children's schools Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Volunteered with Pima County Health Department assisting her husband in delivering health services to migrant workers. While in Tucson, Arizona, she worked registering voters and as a Poll Worker during elections. She was very grateful for her right to vote and even voted in the last 2016 Primary Election. Momma worked in retail in her younger years. Later, while raising her children, she worked retail during the holiday seasons and as an AVON Lady. While in California, she worked in various manufacturing companies and retired as Lead Lady in the manufacturing of Aeronautics parts. Momma loved playing cards. She excelled at playing poker with family members and friends. Much laughter and frivolity took place during these friendly games. She is survived by her children: Mary Gloria Parker (George), Henry Jerry Delgado (Sandy), and Elizabeth Ann Delgado. Her youngest daughter Roberta “Bertie” JoAnn Lindroth (Dennis) predeceased her. Grandchildren: Alexandria Nicole Massaro (Dominic), Katherine Elizabeth Lindroth, John Harley Ruelas, Andrew Carpenter, and Joseph and Jessica Delgado, who both predeceased her.Great-Grandsons: Gianni Massaro, Anthony Massaro, and Lorenzo Massaro. Gloria is also survived by numerous cousins, numerous nephews, numerous nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces. Special thanks to Gloria’s niece, Cynthia Boone and nephew, Randy Tully for their wonderful care and love for momma. Funeral arrangements will be held at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, on Thursday, September 29, 2016, Visitation from 5:00 PM to 6:45 PM and Rosary at 7:00 PM. The family wishes to thank caregivers contracted with Horizon Support Services in Orange County California, particularly Flo Downs Wilson and Valerie Rosa who provided excellent care while she was in Irvine, California. While in Tucson, Arizona, caregivers provided by Synergy Caregiving Company, particularly Mary Hayworth and Jessica Ochoa for their excellent service. Additionally, the Tucson Medical Hospice Staff for their professional care of momma.
