

Born in Lovelock, NV on August 19, 1931 to Loren and Essie (Nickell) Alexander. They moved to Utah where he attended Roosevelt elementary and high school. He attended 1yr at BYU, then enlisted and served active duty in the USAF from 1950-1954 then returned to BYU where he received his degree in music. He went on to work in management at the Firestone and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Companies serving the mining industry. In 1963 he met his wife Betty in Tucson where they settled down with their family. They moved to Silver City, NM in the late 70's where he managed Cobra Tires. He retired from there in 1967. He and Betty moved back to Tucson a few yrs ago to be closer to their family. Jack had many activities that he enjoyed including golf, hunting and fishing. He made the local paper setting New Mexico state’s record for catching 4lb 13oz white bass at Bill Evans Lake. Besides his wife Betty, he is survived by his 10 children and many grand and great grand children, and many more family members. He was predeceased by two of his children. Jack was a wonderful, loving family man who will be missed by many. His family would like to give special thanks to all his wonderful, compassionate caregivers as well as TMC Hospice staff who took great care.
