Janice Rae St. Clair (Jan) was a wild, spirited, unique woman with a great sense of humor, a kind heart, and full of generosity. Jan sadly left us on March 16th, 2024 at the age of 81, after a long time of suffering. She was born in Defiance, Ohio, on August 24th, 1942.
Jan was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who devoted her younger years to nursing and motherhood. Many called on Jan for her beautiful words she could put together through poetry. She was known for her homemade pies, canned fruits, and vegetables. Her love for animals was evident through her donations and loving ways. She enjoyed singing, whether it be in the chior or making up her own tunes. Jan would take anyone to the cleaners in a good game of cards, would crochet you and afghan, or just enjoy your company over a glass of coke-- if you really wanted to see her feisty side, just offer her a shot of whiskey!
Janice Rae St. Clair was preceded in passing by: her parents Lois Shock and Gilbert St. Clair; her three brothers David Hoover, George Hoover, and Charles Hoover; her two sisters Charlotte Docket and Marlene Chaney. Jan is survived by: two sisters Shirley Anese and Marie Hoover; her five children Michael Remsburg, Robert Haynes, Betty (Lee) LaCoss, Sonni (Daniel) Ybarra, and Jenna (Rachel) Martinez; her ten grandchildren Spencer Remsburg, Jacob McCubbin, Sarah, Luke and Jacob Haynes, Wendy (Jeff) Martinez, Jenny Scott, Lindsey (Lamar) Herring, Cheyenne Robles, and Bruce Perry; and eight great-grandchildren Madison, Olivia, Faith, Carmen, Lillyanna, Alyssa, Anghelo, and Santiago.
Jan was proud of her children and loved to be surrounded by family; loved by many and forgotten by none.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with friends and family.
