Jeffrey Scott Fratt, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a lover of all-things ‘nature’ – the beach, the forest, mountains, dunes, sunrises and sunsets – and camping.
Jeffrey grew up in Tucson and graduated from Palo Verde High School in 1973. Joined the United States Navy, (a very proud veteran), became a medical assistant and was stationed in Port Hueneme, California. After the Navy, exuberance for adventure, took him to College Station, Texas and he worked for Red Adair Oil Riggers. (This job may have been the catalyst to wanting to work in an office :)). He graduated at the top of his class from DeVry University, with his business degree. Landed his dream job in San Diego. Living in San Diego, Jeffrey worked, loved his co-workers and retired from San Diego State University as the Assistant Director of Contract and Procurement Management. “Go Aztecs!”
Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Yvonne Denise Tachiquin Fratt, who stood by him as a resolute pillar of support. Their bond was admired by all who knew them.
Survived by daughter Kristy Keller, son Jacob Fratt (Denise), and ‘California daughter’ Rosalyn Tachiquin. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Bradley Dupont (Maria), Kiley, Jeremy, Mallory, Johnny, and Stacy Fratt, Robert Bingham and Wendy Bruce (Josh), Cenovia and Levi Tachiquin. And proudly 4 great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his father Merlyn D. Fratt Jr. (Janell), stepfather John Barr, sisters Sara Wylie, Becky Fratt-Taylor (Clay), Kim Barr Pearson (Conrad), Kevin Barr, Luis Tachiquin (Judy), Anna Harlow, Kay Gross (Victor) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, Amy Jo Greene and many loved ones.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his mother, Joanne ‘Jody’ Barr (John), mother-in-law Beatriz Quinones, father-in-law Jose Tachiquin Jr., grandparents Victor and Leah Gross and Olga and Merlyn Fratt Sr. and in-laws Jose Tachiquin III and Marissa Strait (Rick).
A celebration of Jeffrey’s life will be held in the near future and posted on DignityMemorial.com.
Though Jeffrey will be missed incredibly, he leaves behind a legacy of love and the memory of his infectious laugh and sense of humor. Jeffrey was deeply committed to his family and loved his lifelong friends.
