Joanie drove to Tubac that spring to have lunch and swap stories with Ginsie and Karen H D and Nancy B E and me. It was a great day and a close gathering of special girlfriends. Joan was a classmate at East Grand Rapids High School, class of 1952.  We had a "mini" reunion in Tubac in Oct. 2011 and were so hoping that she could join us.  Most of us had not seen Joan for many years and were looking forward to renewing friendships.  It is with great sadness that I will send this email to our class members.  Joan was a wonderful woman and we emailed some over the years. She suffered long enough. God speed, dear Joan.
