Joan Ann Tober, 77, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025. Born on June 24, 1948, in California, Joan lived a life filled with warmth, determination, and love for her family and friends.
For more than 30 years, Joan built a successful career as a real estate agent, guiding families into new homes with her trademark mix of professionalism, care, and persistence. But beyond her career, she will be remembered most for the way she lived — active, vibrant, and always deeply connected to the people she loved.
She found joy in the simple and beautiful moments: pedaling her granddaughter Amber, in her younger years, through Sabino Canyon on the back of her bike, waving cheerfully to tram drivers along the way; hiking the trails of Saguaro National Monument; and sharing laughter with her friends in spin class at LA Fitness. She was an avid reader, a lover of nature, and each Thanksgiving she gave her time to the Salvation Army, making sure others felt cared for during the holidays.
Joan’s fierce loyalty defined her — to her friends, whom she protected and cherished; to her family, whom she loved beyond measure; and to her values, never hesitating to speak out when she saw an injustice. She leaves behind a legacy of courage, love, and a life lived with conviction.
She is survived by her daughter, Marianne, (Lucius); her granddaughter, Amber; her great-granddaughter, Ainsley, her dearest friend Lori of New Jersey. Each of them carries forward her spirit of strength and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any women’s shelter, Victims Advocate Group, or Salvation Army in her honor.
Her laughter, energy, and fierce love will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
