John Angelo Abbott, lovingly known as “Nohn” and “Cuckoo Nohn,” passed away on November 21, 2025. He is survived by his mother, Kelly Abbott; his brother, Danny Abbott; his sister-in-law, Amy Abbott; his fiancée, Jennifer Stover; and his three amazing sons, John, Brett, and Cade. He was also blessed with two bonus sons, Lukas and Landen Stover.
John leaves behind a large and devoted Abbott and Regina family, including many aunts, uncles, cousins, and all of his beautiful nieces and nephews, who cherished him deeply.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Conception Abbott; his maternal grandparents, Angelo and Betty Regina; his cousins Robert Abbott and Angela Gutierrez; and most recently, his father, Ron Abbott, who passed on September 19, 2025.
John was born a healthy, joyful child and lived without complications until the age of 2½, when he began experiencing serious lung issues. Even then, his fighting spirit showed early. Throughout his life, he battled his health challenges with courage, faith, and an unshakeable determination.
At 44 years old, John was blessed with the chance to be approved for a double-lung and heart transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He approached this chapter with hope, gratitude, and the same strength that had carried him through every hardship. On the very day he received the news that he had not only been approved but placed first on the transplant list, his heart gave out. His body became tired, but his fight never did.
We are forever grateful to the friends and family who have stood beside John—and all of us—for more than 40 years. Please remember our son, father, brother, uncle, and nephew as the extraordinary person he was: positive, resilient, unwavering in his beliefs, and strong in his faith.
We love you, John, and we will always miss you. Rest easy knowing your beautiful boys were the center of your world—and we will take it from here.
