John Thomas Alford Jr.

John T Alford Jr, 41, passed away on July13, 2021. Born in Raleigh, NC, he was baptized at White Plains Methodist Church. He moved to Tucson in 1991 and graduated from Catalina Foothills High School in 1997. He attended Samford University in Birmingham Ala. where he majored in sports medicine. He returned to Tucson in 2008.

Family was always first with John. He adored his loving wife, Jyl. His daughter Bryley brought him joy and he took immense pride in his step-son Caden. He will be missed by his many friends at Frito-Lay.

John loved fitness and sports. He earned his black belt in karate at 12, played basketball and football at CFHS and was an avid bodybuilder his entire adult life. He was a lifelong fan of Duke University basketball, Atlanta Braves baseball and Notre Dame football.

John is survived by his wife Jyl, his daughter Bryley, step-son Caden, his parents John Alford Sr. and Marcia Alford, his sister Carrie Harnist , niece Kayla Harnist and nephews Zachary and Seth Harnist, He is also survived by two beloved pets, Lexi and Paisley.

A visitation will be held for John at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ, on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 10am-12pm with graveside to follow.
