In 1955 I came to live with the Westmoreland Tribe. It was one of the best things I ever did. I and Gene and Frank used to let John body slam us and wrestle with us and have a fun time.        When I moved to Mesa on a few acres, John would stop by,on his way to deliver grain, and we would have breakfast together talk about everything we could think of. Now at my age my brain isn't remembering all the things that we used to do. I do know this-God is in control and He sits on the Throne-and that's where John is.      Praise The Lord. Mike

Dear Uncle John,
Thank you so much for all the wonderful memories. I remember all the trips we all took up to Mount Lemmon for Easter. The guys playing football and tossing horse shoes. What awesome times those were. The parties at mom and dad's house. The times spent at grandma and grandpa's house on Tyndall watching all the men outside tinkering with the cars and trucks...in the rain.
You and the rest of the family made growing up fun and special.

Uncle John, you were a great man. I will miss you.

Cousin John , fellow motorcycle rider, We will miss you Our Taco Sunday's will never be the same. Your laughter will always be in Our hearts, til We meet again Love Ya Bro.

What a wonderful, truly GOOD man.  A friend to everyone, truly loved his family.  He will always have a special place in my heart as my husband Dan  can attest.  He was the brother I never had, my buddy.  He called me Munchkin and Maynard and was the best square dance partner I ever had. He followed me patiently while I re-learned riding my motorcycle.  He would come and help anyone at any time if they needed help.
The world will be a much emptier place without him.
My deep sympathy to Bonnie and all of his great family.

I lived one street over from the Westmorland family.  The Westmorland house was a gathering place for the neighborhood kids.  Always something going on.  I posted the obit on my FB page.  I will never forget Johnny's big smile and his red hair.  My heart goes out to the whole Westmorland Family God Bless them all.

John, May you rest in peace. Your heart was so full of love and laughter. I will miss you dearly. My deepest sorrows to your family.
