

Lorna Kaye Hoover Ahern born on June 23, 1959, to Joan and Paul Robert Hoover of Farmington, New Mexico. The youngest of three daughters, Lorna devoted her life to helping others. Family, friends, children, and animals all flourished under her grace, support, and care. After her move to Tucson, Lorna met and accepted the proposal of the love of her life, Jack, and they moved forward in life and in love as the owners--restaurateur and chef--of Ric's Cafe. Lorna is survived by her beloved husband, John J. Ahern; her mother, Joan Hoover (Aurora, CO); her mother-in-love, Margaret Edwina Ahern (Tucson), her sisters, Paula Hoover (Brownwood, TX) and Holly Swain (Arvada, CO), brothers- and sisters-in-love, Glenn D. and Margaret Mary Francis Boreman (Geneva, FL), Joanne Marie Ahern (Tucson), Frank Bumgarner and Mary Claire Ahern (Tucson), Charles and Patricia Ann Scott (Three Points); nephews, Edward Whitney (Los Angeles, CA), John and Jude Scott (Tucson), Anthony Ahern (Tucson); nieces, Heather Scott (Denver, CO) and Jennifer Scott (Tucson). Lorna always served the needs of others first and her priorities in life were her family and friends, her animals, and her home. EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY AND CEMETERY at 5801 E. Grant Rd. will host a viewing on Friday, April 8, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and service Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. All are invited. Following the service, join us for a Celebration of Lorna's life hosted by Anthony's in the Catalinas at 6440 North Campbell Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Lorna Kaye Ahern to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona.
