Marilyn, (“Mannie”, “Bernie”), was a best friend, kindred spirit, guiding light, role model, mentor, rock of Faith and courage, volunteer, PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization) sister...who touched our lives in endless ways. She was a gentle, selfless soul with a “lyrical voice” who delighted in brightening the world around her. Our family’s sunshine, Marilyn freely shared her infectious smile, optimism, intense love for family, friends, and joy in God’s creation. Marilyn was always a model of strength, grace, empathy and kindness towards others throughout her purposeful life.
Marilyn especially loved music and theater. She was a constant supporter of the arts. As an undergraduate at the University of Arizona she studied Navajo culture and the rich natural history of Arizona (“God’s Country”). She truly loved the Southwest and again made Tucson her home 30 years later. Throughout life, Marilyn was an enthusiastic volunteer in the community, a PEO member for 60 years, a visiting angel to those in need, and a tireless, devoted mother of 4, always putting her children’s welfare and happiness first. She made it a life-long priority to stay connected and nurture strong bonds with all her family and friends.
Survivors include her brother and sister, John Mueller & Patricia Sandman; children Douglas Prince, Victoria Emad, and Patricia Dutiel; grandchildren Dereck Prince, Samantha Miller, Curtis Prince, Darius & Kamran Emad, Bradford & Rebecca Dutiel, Emily & Sarah Moore; great grandchildren Emma Prince, Macy & Graham Miller, Wolf & Dove Prince, Isla & Kian Emad, and Madolyne Dutiel. Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband Victor Prince, and daughter, Rebecca Moore. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to one’s favorite charity.
