Mary Ellen Bailey

Mary Ellen Bailey, 84, of Tucson, AZ went to be with our Lord on January 19, 2014. She is preceded in death by Bob, her beloved husband of 51 years, her parents, her twin brother, and her 3 sisters. She is survived by her daughters Sandra (Ron) Bailey, Delores (Mark) Powell, Virginia Lee (Greg) Conley, and son Roy (Sheryl) Bailey. She also left behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was born April 24, 1929, in Peoria, IL. Her family moved to Tucson where she graduated from Tucson High School. She grew up sharing a love of music with her sisters Geri, Emily and Rose, and they sang together every chance they had. She was active in her church, sang in the church choir, and was secretary for the church for many years. She married the love of her life, Robert on January 30, 1952, and started a family that grew beyond biological bonds to include many children who were proud to call her Mom and grandma. She had a huge heart and she never turned her back on anyone and was quick with a hug and a kiss.

Mary was a woman deeply committed to her Lord, her family, and her friends. She was caring and loving, and showed great generosity, loving support, and an unconditional love to all.

Services will be held at Funeraria Del Angel South Lawn Mortuary 5401 S Park Ave Tucson, AZ Monday 1/27/14 with viewing from 9-10am and service from 10-11:30am with graveside service to follow. A reception to celebrate her life will be held at Mountain Vista Community Mobile Home Park Club House, 4545 S Mission Rd after services
