Patricia “Pat” Johnson Bennett was born September 6, 1927 in Wilkinsburg, PA. Pat was the only child to Charles B. Johnson and Ada Flora Beard. Pat graduated on June 22, 1945 with High Honors from Peabody High School, Pittsburg, PA. Pat graduated from the College of Fine Arts, Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburg on June 16, 1949 with her Bachelor’s Degree. Pat was an art teacher at Linden School in Pittsburg.
Pat married John Joseph “Jack” Bennett on April 21, 1956 in Pittsburg, PA. Pat gave birth to their first child, Lynn Anne on February 12, 1958. The family of three moved to Tucson in June 1960 where Jack got a job at Arizona High School. On November 9, 1961 another baby girl, Ellen Louise was born into the Bennett family.
After suffering with cancer for a couple of years, Pat lost Jack on October 8, 1969. God gave Pat the strength and wisdom to raise her beautiful daughters as a single parent.
Pat loved traveling – before marriage, before kids, and after. Some of the places Pat traveled to are Canada, Hawaii, England, Scotland, Ireland, Grand Canyon, Mt. Rushmore, and several other places that she loved to visit.
Pat tragically lost Lynn and Ellen, along with her son-in-love, Rich on December 21, 2018. Through all of the tragedy, Pat stood tall and held on to her faith in the Lord.
Pat is lovingly remembered by her two grandchildren, Irina (Manny) Zamora, Peter Davis, and four beautiful great-grandchildren, Junior, Johnnie, Natalia, and Mason. She will be greatly missed by her family and numerous friends.
Pat loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved going to Ladies Bible Study and church until she was not able to attend. She was not afraid to share her faith with family, friends, and strangers.
