I am sad to learn today of Paul's passing. It's really something how people can touch each other with relatively short times together. I was at KVOA from '66 to '68. Paul and I worked together during that time and did not see each other in person again. But we connected via Facebook a few years ago and shared messages every now and then. He was a good guy back in the day and he was a good guy up to the end. My heartfelt sympathy to his friends and family. 

Paul was such a kind man.  He worried about the feral cats he helped take care of at home.  Every time  I pass by The Habit I will think of the times we ate there together.   I will miss knowing he is in this world. but God must have decided he needed to rest.  

Paul and I kept in touch via Facebook in recent months. I knew of his love for vintage cars, and he sent me a couple of pictures of him standing proudly with his latest rebuilt vehicle. 
Paul was the most conscientious of the many directors with whom I collaborated at KVOA.  He cared to do his best  I'll miss him greatly. He was a special person.

Paul and I spent many a 10:00 PM newscast together in KVOA's Master Control room, him on the switcher console and me at the camera controls. During the sports segments, anytime Tucson High was featured, one of us would yell "Badgers?" and the other would answer "We don't need no stinking Badgers"! God, I'm going to miss him!!!!

Paul had many friends at KVOA, and I'm honored to have been one and worked with Paul on his evening shifts. There were many conversations about his cars and other  things. Paul had a love for life and fun! Where else could you find a rubber chicken, and a disco ball in a master control room?

Paul Bean was a most affable and friendly guy. Even though I worked Master Control occasionally, I never did get to work with Paul.  But I got to know him well when I was working long hours during the remodeling of the station, I would take my coffee break in Master while Paul was on the board. I also attended the car show Paul was in on 4th Ave. 2016. I will miss him very much!

I worked many hours in Master control with Paul.  Sharing stories, talking about hot rods and of course scooter pies.  He was such a wonderful caring person.  He was always there to protect me from some scary co-workers and to give me a good laugh.    I will certainly miss getting my monthly updates of car shows from Paul.  I will miss you my friend.

So sorry to hear that Paul passed.  Haven't seen him in years but remember the last time he visited and was so glad to see him and his friend.  God bless the family.

Goodbye my friend. The world will be a colder, sadder place without you.

I worked with Paul in master control, It was  a true privlage to has worked with him. He was a kind and gentle person.


I knew Paul for over 30 years and he was a wonderful co-worker and friend. I looked forward to seeing him at various car shows around town. He was an amazing kind man always looking out for others. A good man taken to soon from us. May the Lord look after his family and friends during this difficult time. 

Paul and I worked together in the Master Control room of KVOA for many years. He was a good and decent man that I am proud to have as a friend. I'll miss him.

I am deeply saddened by this stunning news. I worked with Paul during his entire 2nd "tour of duty" at KVOA. It was a pleasure working with him. My  heartfelt condolences.
