Pauline was born to Samuel and Dorothy McMurtrie on Christmas day 1922. She grew up in the village of Coleville near Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. In the beginning of World War II she met her future husband, Fred. They were married in September of 1942; shortly thereafter he went to war. The next year her older son was born, after the war 2 more children were born. In 1956 they moved to Tucson, Arizona. After many years in Tucson they sold their house, and moved to their new home in Show Low in the mountains of Northern Arizona. Fred passed away in October 2005. In a short time her family sold the house and moved her to a new home in Tucson, where she lived until her death. She has lived a healthy life, trusted in God, loved cooking, and with great charity devoted herself to and cared for all of those about her.
