

Lt. Col Robert B. Annenberg (retired) 80, died peacefully at home on May 26, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; brother, Andrew; his sons: Robert, Mark, Eric; daughter, Leigh Anne(John); and three grandchildren: Jeremy, David and Weston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Sylvia and by his son, Kurt. Robert was born on December 2, 1930 in St. Paul, MN. After being a pitcher for the New York Yankees (farm team), he graduated from the University of Maryland in 1954 with a BA in Sociology and Criminology. He joined the US Air Force OSI in 1956 and was an accomplished pilot. He married Patricia in 1957 and settled in Washington D.C. Switching to the US Army Intelligence, he was sent to Yale University to study Japanese. He served two tours in Vietnam and six years in Japan, to retire as an Intelligence Instructor at the Ft. Huachuca Army Base. The family is very proud of the many Meritorious Service Medals, US Army Commendation Medals and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry W/Palm Award. Robert Annenberg was a man of high moral character and great integrity accompanied by a dry, sardonic humor. He loved his family and his country and was a true conservative patriot. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Christ Presbyterian Church at 6565 E. Broadway Blvd. with burial to follow at EAST LAWN PALMS CEMETERY, 5801 E.
