Robert Allen Jones

Robert (Bob) A. Jones, 76, passed away June 8, 2025, with his family by his side. Bob was born August 4th, to Arthur and Florine Jones at Mather AFB, Sacramento, California. Bob graduated from Del Oro School and joined the Air Force in 1968. After a tour in Viet Nam, he was stationed at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson. It was here, he met and married the love of his life.

Bob is survived by Shirley, his wife of 53 years, daughter Terri (Randy) Harrison, and granddaughters Hailey and Amber Harrison. He is also survived by his brother James (Cheri) Jones, his sisters Kathy (Larry) Dearman, Nano (Ben) Johanneck, Elizabeth (George) Allen and Floetta Pitman. There are also a great many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son Robert Jr. (Robbie), his parents, sisters Tina Deen and Jacquetta Jones, brothers Arthur, Charles, Donald, William and Joseph Jones. After honorably serving 20 years in the Air Force, Bob retired and returned to live in Tucson. He then went to work for the Freeport McMoran (Cyprus Sierrita) copper mine in Green Valley. Bob has always enjoyed his family, fishing, camping, gardening and woodworking. After retirement he and Shirley spent time Rving and sightseeing in as many states as possible (43). Bob is also a life member of Aaron Lodge #49 F&Am, Tucson, Arizona.

Bob will be greatly missed and remembered forever.

A visitation for Robert will be held Monday, June 16, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706. A funeral service will occur Monday, June 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706. A graveside service with full military honors will occur Monday, June 16, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706. A reception will occur Monday, June 16, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706.
