Rogelio Jesus Quijada II was born in Tucson, AZ on March 24th, 1982 to Rogelio and Maria Quijada. He joined his older sister Cristal, and later welcomed his younger sister Cindy to the family. He was the middle child and the only boy, lovingly referred to as "Junior," or "Chapo," by his family.
Throughout his childhood and school years, sports were one of Junior's greatest pasttimes. He played little league baseball and basketball, and also played for his school teams. he graduated from Desert View High School in 2000 and attended Pima Community College with a basketball scholarship.
In the year 2002, Junior welcomed his first child-- his beautiful daughter Itzel Veleria, with his then-wife Cinthia Arvayo. In 2005 the couple welcomed their handsome son Rogelio Gabriel III. The marriage dissolved, but Junior remained committed to being a dad to his two children.
In the year 2011, Junior welcomed his third child, the beautiful and smart Joel Isaiah with his then partner, Holly Snaman. Although Junior's relationship with Holly also ended up dissolving, the pair remained committed to raising Joel together, and combining the family unit along with Joel's older siblings.
Being a dad was Junior's greatest joy and life's purpose. He gained an additional two children, Bianca and Noah, through his relationship with Heather Alvarez. Junior and Heather met in middle school, dated for a bit after high school, then finally fully committed to one another in 2016. He loved and cared for Heather's children as his very own, and they also joined Itzel, Rogelio, and Joel as well-loved siblings.
Junior is survived by his father Roy Sr., sisters Cristal and Cindy, brothers-in-law Alex and Samuel, daughters Itzel and Bianca, sons Rogelio III and Noah, and his life partner Heather. He leaves behind four nieces, one nephew, and his maternal grandmother, Maria, as well as many auths, uncled, and cousins from both sides of his family.
Junior will be remembered for his loving heart, especially toward his 5 children, and his goofy and funny spirit. He was taken to his heavenly home along with his 12 year old son Joel, on April 20th, 2024. Junior and Joel will be greatly missed, more than words can express.
In life, Junior had the habit of honking and waving his greetings when driving by his parents' or sisters' houses, and we know that he and Joel are doing the same from heaven. We will hold on to all of the precious memories until we see them again.
