Roger Dennis McNerney

Roger Dennis McNerney was born on Sept. 14, 1974 in Tucson, Arizona. He went to be with his Lord & Savior Jesus, on June 25, 2013. He is survived by parents, Dennis & Rebecca McNerney; son, Gabriel Valenzuela – McNerney (Maria); sister, Helen Beard; brother-in-law, James Beard, Chandar Sisk; nieces, Krystal Birdsong (Charles), Faith Beard, Rebekah Beard; great niece, Willow Birdson, Nevaeh Rivera; great nephew, Carlton Birdsong. Preceded in death by grandparents, William & Ida McNerney, Julius & Hazel Rosenthal; baby great niece, Alysa Elizabeth; cousin, Rocky L. Stewart. In Tucson, Roger is survived by three aunts, Rathie Jensen (Al), Darlene Tearney (Bill) and Barbara Kennedy (Don) and many first, second and third cousins. Also, cousins in St. Louis, Missouri, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Michigan and Lompoc, Calif. Roger graduated from Salpoint High School, class of 1992, where he played on the Varsity golf team for 4 years. He also participated in Ricki Rarick Junior Golf Program and Arizona Junior Golf Assoc. He received over 100 golf trophies. He also played at Junior World of Golf in San Diego, CA where he met and played with Tiger Woods. He purchased and remodeled homes which he sold. The past several years he was employed at family Air Heating & Cooling. He became ill in April 2012 and was admitted to UMC Hospital where Dr. Samuel Kim, performed surgery removing a major part of his left lung. He was no longer able to work, so he became a full time father to his dear son, Gabriel, the Love of his Life. Rest in peace. You are dearly loved by all who knew you and will be dearly missed. A visitation will be held on July 5, 2013 at 9:00 am at East Lawn Palms Mortuary with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 am. Arrangement entrusted to East Lawn Palms Mortuary & Cemetery.
