Ruby Ladene Brown was born 7/27/1932 in Grand Island, Nebraska as Ruby Ladene Wilford, the sixth of 14 children. She grew up in Kansas as a child, although eventually moved with her family to Tucson. As she said many times, “I married my one and only love, Jack was the one, from the first time I saw him" it never changed! Early in life’s journey together, this young couple made a defining decision, at Heart to Heart Chapel, that changed the direction of their life’s journey, they each accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior, and as we look back, that decision defined their lives going forward, and continues to guide the family with a Godly legacy. God blessed them with four sons in five years, life was busy, but never too busy to reach out with God’s love, to other children that were in need. A mother’s love.....was who she was, over the years she touched so many children’s lives beyond her own children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her life’s example guided them to our Savior, her love nurtured their heart’s, many times her humble home was their shelter, there was always room for one more, and her prayer’s continued for each of them, even as she was welcomed in Heaven.
While surrounded by family on December 11, 2013 she left her broken body behind, to be welcomed into the arms of her Heavenly Father, and was reunited with her only, Jack, who had preceded her to their heavenly home 22 years ago, she never stopped longing for that reunion, what a joyous celebration it must have been! That joyous heavenly reunion includes nine siblings; her parent’s many friends, and her only daughter that went to be with the Lord, before her birth. Her brother’s; Raymond (Betty), and Earl (Lois), sister’s; Evelyn, Marjorie, Janis (Tom), Adeline (Bob) and Jackie (Lee) along with her four son’s; Gene (Melinda), David (Donnalee), Harold (Meg), Lee (Diane), with grandchildren; Adam, Rachael, Sarah, Noah, AJ, Kristen, Tricia, Matthew, Dianne, Jason, Derrick, and her great grandchildren; Brandon, Katie, Ashley, Jimmy, Kelsey, Anthony, Patrick, Raima, Josiah, Leah, Jackson, Carter, Mela, Clara, Joseph, Andrew, Matthew, Joshia, Caleb, Brandon, Dillon and Ryleigh celebrate her arrival in our Savior’s arms.
As we say goodbye for now, to a mom, a Grandma, a Great Grandma, a Sister and a Friend, we smile and say thank you for; the memories that will soothe the pain of goodbye, a Godly example to follow, and a legacy of love that will continue to reach into the future, We Love You! As we look back over the life of a young couple that committed their lives to the Lord early in their journey, we see lives lived with many struggles, yes, and yet such grace, and an abundance of love and laughter. We have had front row seats, as they lived out Matthew 25:34, 35 & 40: “For I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you visited me; I was in prison and you came to me. (40) “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me. (34) “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the earth.”
Now reunited with the Savior they served together, earthly struggles over, surrounded with God’s love, thank you for your lives well lived. Matthew 25:21: “Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things, enter into the joy of your Lord. We will see you again, that joyous celebration awaits us! We Love you!
