

Gonzalo (Gene) Urdiales – Jan. 10, 1933 thru Dec.19, 2025 (92 years old) was a longtime resident of Tucson for 65 years. He was born in Ranger, TX. His Family moved to Nebraska in the 1940s. He served in the Korean War as an Army Corporal and received an honorable discharge. After his service, he returned to Nebraska and Married Ocelia Barraza in 1955. In 1960, together they moved their young family to Tucson, where he called home until his death. He worked as a Union Electrical Journeyman at San Manual Magma Mine for 12 years. He then worked at Hughes Aircraft Co. as a Lead Electrician and was promoted to an Electrical Facility Engineer where he retired after 22 years of service. Gonzalo and his wife then co-owned a business in providing home elder care for 12 years. Gonzalo is survived by sons Gene (Randall) and Lawrence Urdiales; daughters Veronica Walker, Olga Dudley, Ocelia Santoro; 7 Grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by death his son Andrew (David) Urdiales and wife Ocelia.
Services will be held at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church at 4725 E. Pima St., Tucson, AZ at 10:00 AM on January 19, 2026.
