On January 7, 2020 at approx., 9am Sadie went home to be with our Father in Heaven at the ripe age of 91. Sadie Patton Copprue Allen was born June 26, 1928 to Major and Corene Lewis Patton in Chicago Illinois. She graduated from Englewood High School. She later went to marry Willie Copprue the love of her life in 1946. This marriage lasted for 28 years from this union she gave birth to three daughters Irene, Cheryl and Yvonne. She was a LPN at Oak Forest Hospital for 30 years. Then she moved to Tucson, AZ where she met her second husband Ivory James Allen who proceeded her in death in 1991.
Sadie opened a dance studio in 1959 in Robbins Illinois. She enjoyed roller skating, playing pool, long walks, jumping rope and standing on her head. She learned to play various musical instruments. Sadie was very talented, she even spoke Spanish, did some acting and modeling. It never seemed to be enough time in the day for Sadie because she kept herself busy from Sun up to Sun down.
Sadie found her place at an early age, she participated in numerous auxiliaries with her church home, from singing in the choir to teaching Sunday School. When she got older she became a member of Southern Baptist Church.
At that time Sadie became active at Armory Oak Park Senior Center for 35 years. Where she danced and taught tap. Even though Sadie has passed on the memory of her will never be forgotten by Ida Hankins, David Patton, one surviving daughter Irene Spencer, Son-in-law Sherman King, four granddaughters Tynetta & Durrant McIntoch, Tracy & Michael Gerring, Taliah King and Jasmine King and seven great-great grandsons and other family and Friends.
