I was so sorry to hear of your loss.  The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.

Letty and family, so sorry for you loss of your father.  I only met him one time but knowing you and your family you knew he was a good person raising all of you with all the right values.  Praying God gives you the peace and comfort that goes beyond all understanding.

I had the pleasure of meeting Nino when he worked at Pueblo High School.  I later had the opportunity to work with him on matters related to the well being of families and children in Tucson and Sahuarita.  I will always remember him fondly as a great and caring man!  Adios Amigo! QEPD

I worked with Nino at Roskruge and have fond memories of an educator who loved our beautiful profession. Nino was fun loving and always treated us with kindness. He was always positive and found the best in everyone. I am better for having know this educator who gave us his best.

 Mr. SantaCruz was a mentor to many, and a positive influence in the lives of generations of students.  He dedicated much of his life to education and insuring that those in his charge would challenge themselves to their full potential. He was my principal at Wakefield Middle School. Decanse en Paz Sr. SantaCruz. You will be missed.

Mr. Santa Cruz looked after me at Pueblo.  He even attended my mother's funeral. I will forever appreciate and recall his kindness.

It is so hard to say a final farewell to a man who brought such light to our world.  As a principal to a young teacher, Nino was a huge support to me both professionally and personally.  He mentored me, helped me find quality child care for my babies, adjusted my schedule to accommodate my motherhood (all long before most bosses did those things).  He also nurtured my growing bilingualism as an educator and told me to never let anyone say I was less of a bilingual teacher because Spanish was my second language, not my first.  He trusted me and I never wanted to let him down or disappoint.  I owe so much to you, Nino.

To all his beloved family, my heart aches for you.  But you know how lucky you were to be his child, grandchild, niece, nephew, or whomever...  May the warmth of the memories of his belly laugh and giggles, his hugs and his guidance bring peace to your hearts.

Santa Cruz Family:
Nino was an important person in my life helping me through my teaching certification while I worked as a teaching assistant at Wakefield. After I graduated he made certain that I had a job in Tucson. I am forever grateful for his support in my professional development, blessed to have had him as my principal at both Wakefield and Hohokam middle schools. Nino was a man of God wholeheartedly caring for both students and faculty. I have many special memories of Nino but non as special as having both Nino and Martha present at my wedding, an honor for me and my family.
