Shay spent his life in the salvage industry and was widely known as the go-to guy in the business. Something of a legend to many, he had a deep knowledge of cars and parts and a true gift of gab-you could listen to him talk for hours. His conversation, stories, and presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Shay was generous to his core, always willing to give the shirt off his back or welcome someone in like family, even a stranger. Everyone knew Shay.
He is survived by his brother Mike, sister-in-law Joanie, his niece Summer, close friends Kevin and Chris, and many others who were fortunate to know him.
He was my uncle-one of the best men I have ever known. The world won’t be the same without him, but his kindness, stories, and larger-than-life presence will live on.
