I am grateful to Sherri for so many things. I had zero customer service experience when I started working for her at Mission Manor in 1975, but I knew back shop and Sherri encouraged & helped me build on that to start my career. 
Beneath her tough exterior was a heart of gold and my best example of it was when she and I went to see the family that our staff adopted for Christmas one year. They were so excited to be chosen and like most Mexican families, welcomed us into their humble home. We got sizes for the many kids in the family along their Christmas wishes and as we got on the freeway to head back I noticed a trickle of tears streaming down Sherri’s face.  Now, I grew up in a similar background so hadn’t given it much thought, but when I asked her what was wrong, she said “Yolie, they didn’t even have a front door and it’s so cold out!”  The only way I thought to console her was to let her know that the love they shared was their warmth, but I was very moved by Sherri’s compassion for that family and saw that compassion many times throughout those years spent working with her. ♥️

Sherry was my branch manager for several years. We loved telling dirty jokes, and she would often pull me into the conference room to tell me a joke. She was one of my favorite managers. She was kind, fair and funny. Our branch employed about 30 people and on Fridays we would all get together at our various lunch times and go out. Sherry was the type if manager that always had your back, which is a very rare quality. She will be greatly missed. Rest comfortably, my dear friend.

My condolences at this time. We loved them both and their kind heart. I remember they would travel and bring little items from their trips for me.  I used to take care of their pets and house over the years.   My daughter,  Sophie , loves to talk to Curt over the wall. I will miss Sherry!  She was a beautiful person inside and out. I will always remember her smile and generous heart. May God keep you and your family safe.

We are so sorry for the passing of your , mom, wife, grandmother.
I am her sister-in-law Sue Bailey, Curt's sister.
One memory is when my kids were little. She would knit slippers for everyone.
She and Curt always made peanut brittle every year. What a treat.
Sherry always sent birthday cards, Holiday cards, anniversary, etc.
I sure missed all the wonderful things she did after my mother passes in 2008. Their was a falling out. 
But she and Curt were always in my heart. May your family carry on as she would want you to do.
