Born May 21, 1960 in St Lambert, Quebec, Canada.
It is with great sorrow, we announce that Susan passed away on November 28, 2020 in Tucson, Arizona. We find comfort that she left this world peacefully and surrounded by her family. She is survived by her parents, Rita and Dorand Lavergne; sister, Louise Lavergne; brother Gary Lavergne (Marlene), niece, Lisa Lavergne; and daughter Brandi Dilday (Chris Jech).
Susan called Tucson home from a very early age. She attended Corbett Elementary, Naylor Middle and Palo Verde High School. Her greatest joy in life was rescuing stray and in-need cats. She often visited the No-Kill Cat Hermitage and Humane Society of Southern Arizona just to spend time with homeless kitties. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, stubborn (but loveable) attitude and her love of the nickel slot machines, for which she had an uncanny ability to win from.
“God saw that she was getting tired. A cure was not to be. So he put his arms around her and whispered, ‘Come with me.’ With tear-filled eyes we watched her, suffer and fade away. Although we loved her deeply, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best.”
At Susan’s request, the family will celebrate her life privately. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the No-Kill Cat Hermitage or Humane Society of Southern Arizona on behalf of Susan Dilday, Tippy, Donnie and Shawnee.
The family would also like to thank Hope Springs Memory Care for their love and care during the last months of Susan’s life.
Susan (Mom), we will miss you down here on Earth, but we know you are smiling down and watching over us from Heaven. We all love you!
